On Tuesday evening, November 19, we were with Gökmen and Erdi in our guest chair in our  “I am new to İzmir and…”: series.

Our guests shared with us their ties with the city, their experiences and observations.

Born in Izmir, Gökmen stated that after working as a lecturer in the field of musicology at Akdeniz University for many years, he retired and returned to Izmir. Gökmen, who has been dreaming of being in Izmir again for a long time, shared his memories and new experiences about the city.

Erdi, a multidisciplinary artist born in Ankara, stated that he produced in many branches of art after receiving training in ceramics and glass. Erdi, who moved to Izmir in 2020, shared both his art and his experiences about the city.

Thank you to everyone who attended our event, where newcomers to Izmir shared their experiences and became the voice of the city!
