As the İzmir Mediterranean Academy, we began the year 2024 with our talk series titled “I am new to İzmir and…”

The guests for the meeting on January 9th of our talk series, where we host individuals who have recently moved to Izmir, were academician Ahmet and retired ambassador Ümit.

In our conversation where we attempted to understand the climate, apartment buildings, balconies, and the intersections between the indoors and outdoors, participants shared their experiences from Crete, the old streets of Eşrefpaşa, and Adana. In this discussion, where participants introduced new points of views, we rediscovered individual, cultural, and existential commonalities.
